Where 15Five fits better

From what 15Five’s own pages say, line by line:

Engagement surveys

  • 15Five. 15Five ranks your scores as a percentile against other organizations in its benchmark. Employees can answer surveys in its mobile app, and notices go out by Slack and SMS.

360 feedback

  • 15Five. 15Five includes 360 reviews from managers, peers and direct reports in Perform, beside its performance reviews and goals.

Reviews and 1:1s

  • 15Five. 15Five's 1:1s keep agendas, action items and notes, and its mobile app covers check-ins and 1-on-1s. Perform adds 360 reviews from managers, peers and direct reports.

Where Facets is different

  • Priced per manager. A manager with eight reports pays the Manager plan's $7 a month, billed annually ($84 a year), and the eight people are never charged. The people a manager leads never sign in or need an account, so the bill follows the number of managers, not the headcount.
  • Growth and stay conversations, never rated. Since 26 October 2026 a manager can record a growth conversation, about where someone wants to grow, and a stay conversation, about what keeps them. Neither is ever rated, and neither is read when an assessment is drafted.
  • Engagement priced per cycle, by headcount. An engagement cycle is priced once per survey of the whole organization, by headcount: from $999 up to 100 employees to $9,499 up to 2,500. A second cycle in the same calendar year is 60% of list. Two cycles in a year at 100 people cost $999 and $599, $1,598 in all: about $1.33 a person a month.
  • A range on every score. Every group’s score comes with a 95% range, how far it could move by chance, and a change since the last cycle is marked only when it is reliable, so a small movement is not read as a real one.
  • A Leadership 360 for one leader, with its follow-up. A Leadership 360 is $99 a leader, and anyone can buy and run one. The leader predicts their ratings first, and raters’ comments are summarized in other words, never quoted. Since 29 October 2026 it includes a follow-up pulse 60 to 90 days after the brief, and a review that follows an earlier one is compared with it.

Using both

Facets does not have to replace 15Five. Its surveys are bought one at a time, so a company that keeps 15Five Perform for reviews can still run a Facets team survey for one team of 3 to 12 people, a Leadership 360 for one leader, or an engagement cycle, without a second subscription.

What a Facets survey finds stays out of performance records. Team survey and engagement answers do not move into the manager tools; the one route is a Leadership 360 summary the leader chooses to send.

Questions

Is Facets an alternative to 15Five?
For parts of it. 15Five sells engagement surveys, reviews, 1:1s and 360s, priced per user. Facets sells engagement cycles and Leadership 360s one at a time, and its manager tools per manager.
How do Facets' prices compare with 15Five's?
15Five's pages list Engage at $4 a user a month, billed annually; Perform at $11 a user a month, billed annually. Facets' engagement cycle is $999 up to 100 employees; its manager tools are $7 a manager a month, billed annually.
What is the smallest group Facets shows?
Five people by default, and you may raise it to 50 when you set up a cycle; a group that could be worked out by subtraction is hidden too. On 15Five's pages: 5 by default; can be 3 or 4.
Are Facets' engagement surveys anonymous?
They are confidential, not anonymous. Facets links each response to the person who gave it, so they can finish later and answer only once, but nobody with an account can read another person's answers as written.
Can I try Facets before buying?
Yes: the Manager plan has a 30-day trial, and an engagement cycle or a Leadership 360 can be bought on its own, one at a time. On 15Five's pages: demo on request.
