Certification

Certified on the methodology, examined on it, and verified running it.

A self-paced certification for coaches and facilitators: seven modules on the instrument and the craft, a 25-question exam, and a practicum you complete by taking a real team through a full run. $1,295, once.

The syllabus

About five hours of study, then the exam, then a practicum that takes as long as a real engagement takes. Module content lives in the product with your seat; this is the whole of it, with nothing held back for an upsell.

1. The category and the evidence~35 min

Why the instrument is peer-rated, what the research actually supports, what the incumbent assessments claim versus what their own technical reports show, and the three classes of claim you will be expected to keep apart in front of a client.

2. The instrument~40 min

The four layers of the item bank — peer behavior dimensions, team climate scales, nominations, and the self module — how items are anchored and time-bounded, what reverse keying and referent shift mean in practice, and the versioning rule that makes results comparable across waves.

3. Method and measurement~45 min

The rater arithmetic behind every threshold, what agreement statistics decide, why results are suppressed below three raters, what anonymity can and cannot promise, the Social Relations Model in one page, and how to talk about change without lying with arrows.

4. Running an engagement~35 min

The full lifecycle of a team run — roster, wave, invitations, close, score, review, release — what each stage needs from you, the craft of getting responses in, cadence across waves, and when the right product is an org-wide engagement cycle instead of a team run.

5. The facilitator craft~45 min

What being the named facilitator unlocks and obliges: the release gate, reading the rater-behavior signals, the confidential channel, running the generated debrief, holding a hard room, and what to do when a debrief goes badly.

6. Ethics and boundaries~35 min

The developmental–evaluative wall and why it is structural, exactly who can see what, the consent and data-protection ground rules, the claims discipline in front of a client, and where the instrument's competence ends.

7. The practice~30 min

Positioning against the incumbents without overclaiming, the economics of running Facets in a paid practice, scoping single teams versus org cycles, the multi-client limits as they stand today, and the conversations that win or lose an engagement.

8. The practicuminstructions

The practical requirement: run one real team through a complete wave as its named facilitator. What qualifies, how it is verified automatically, and what gets recorded on your credential.

What the purchase includes, and what the credential earns

The purchase includes the course, the exam, and 6 team-run credits — enough to practice with, and the practicum consumes one. The earned credential adds three things: the certified-practitioner rate on engagement cycles (25% off list), a public verification page at an unguessable address you can put on a proposal, and an optional listing in the practitioner directory — opt-in, self-authored, removable by you at any time.

And one thing on purpose: nothing else. Nothing in the product is or will be locked behind it. Facilitator surfaces come with being named a facilitator; the instrument is published for anyone to inspect. The credential certifies you, not your access.

The rules, stated in advance

The exam

25 questions drawn from a larger bank across all 7 content modules; 20 correct passes. Retakes are unlimited with a 24-hour wait after a miss, each from a fresh draw. Auto-graded, score and per-module breakdown returned, answer keys never.

The practicum

Run one real team through a complete wave as its named facilitator: at least 3 raters other than you submitting, and the release decision made by you. Verified automatically against what the product recorded, and the credential stores that evidence — identifiers and counts, never your client’s content. A completed Leadership 360 you facilitated qualifies the same way.

No expiry

The credential does not expire and there is no re-accreditation fee. It permanently records the instrument version you certified on; when the version moves, a free delta module covers what changed.

Revocation

A refunded purchase or a fabricated practicum revokes the credential. Revocation is visible: the verification page says revoked rather than pretending the credential never existed.

The honest part

The course teaches the same claims discipline the website practices, so it would be strange to break it here. The instrument has not been through a psychometric pilot, and no study shows that using it improves team performance — what is validated is the research the design rests on, and what the certification certifies is that you know the method, passed an exam on it, and ran it for real under the product’s own record-keeping. That is what the credential page will say, because that is what it is.

Questions

Do I need the Practitioner plan to get certified?
No. The certification is a one-time purchase and stands alone. The Practitioner plan is the ongoing toolkit — included runs each month, the facilitator surfaces on your engagements — and either one, plan or credential, qualifies you for the certified-practitioner cycle rate. They are better together and required together never.
Does the credential expire?
No. It records the instrument version you certified on, permanently. When the instrument version moves, a short delta module covering what changed is published free to every credential holder; your credential stays valid either way.
Can I get continuing-education credit for it?
On request we will provide a completion letter describing the course, its hours and its assessment, which you can submit to your professional body. We do not claim pre-approved credit counts with any organization, because none have been applied for yet.
What stops someone faking the practicum?
Less than a human examiner would, and we say so plainly: the practicum is verified automatically against what the product recorded — a released run, you as the named facilitator, real submissions from people other than you. The credential stores that evidence, fabrication is grounds for revocation at any later date, and a revoked credential shows as revoked on its verification page rather than disappearing.
Is certification required to use Facets with clients?
No. Nothing in the product is or will be locked behind it. The credential is for practitioners who want the methodology in depth and a verifiable public record of having done the work.
